Bare Lane, looking Seaward. On the right, in front of the site now occupied by the Bare Institute is the original Bare Club. In the distance is the signpost at the side of the Dog & Partridge Inn, leading to the Promenade.
The post on the right is, according to the 1891 25 inch map, an enigmatically named "Gas Plug" is actually a hydrant for filling the carts used to damp down the roads in dry weather

Mr Eastwood had a Chemist shop in Lancaster, and took a selection of images around Morecambe on glass plates around the turn of the 20th century.
