Clitheroe - Old Town Hall
Clitheroe
Clitheroe Town Hall was designed by Thomas Rickman in 1820 in Gothic Revival style. It replaced the former Moot Hall built circa 1610. It is also the site of the local police station with cells underneath. The cells, believed to have been remodelled from the original early 17th Century dungeons under the original Moot Hall, are now used for storage.
During a major refurbishment in 1990, Clitheroe Library was extended into the building. The current town hall can be found across the road on Church Street.
