Dr Lancaster was trhe son of Dr Thomas Lancaster of Grindleton. He practised in Clitheroe from 1895 - 1930 from Rockdatle, Eshton Terrace, Clitheroe in addition to continuing his father's practice in Grindleton. He was Deputy Police Surgeon for Clitheroe and helped at Barraclough during WW1. His successor was Dr McDonald. Dr Lancaster died at Rockdale in 1946 at the age of eighty.
