Wood Well was one of the wells that supplied the inhabitants of Silverdale. It was the best known and largest of them, and rarely ceases to flow even in times of drought. The water forms in a recess at the base of the cliff, and flows into a trough which overflows into the large basin seen here. The well was renovated in 1988
