Lifeboat "Laura Janet", St Annes on Sea
St Annes on Sea
This is thought to be taken on the day of the launching/naming ceremony of the Laura Janet on 24th September 1881.

"On the Saturday after the new boat's arrival, Mrs Chadwick ceremonially named her the Laura Janet in front of a large crowd. The lifeboats from Lytham, Southport, Blackpool and Fleetwood lay off and the Laura Janet was launched to join them in a grand sail past and procession round the coast to Blackpool"
From "On those infernal Ribble banks" (2006) by David Forshaw (p.36)

Mrs Chadwick was the wife of James Chadwick, the donor of the St Annes lifeboat station.
