Newtown Mill, formally known as Burnley Iron Works and Newtown Steelworks, is located on Queen's Lancashire Way. This particular photograph was taken shortly before Queen's Lancashire Way was constructed. Previously it was called King's Road and it had a row of terraced houses on the opposite side of the road to the mill.
