The original image was loaned to us by Mrs Barbara Danson of Lostock Hall in March 2012. It was in an album that was compiled by her uncle (who was also the photographer), Robert Thornley, after the Guild celebrations in 1952.

The man holding the banner in the right of the picture is Barbara Danson's father Joseph Wilmer. The man holding the banner on the left had side is Stan Slater who subsequently emigrated to New Zealand.
