John Bannister, whose son was David Bannister, was the last person to rent and work the Kings corn mill at Trawden with £10 a year rent being paid to Mr. Midgley. John Bannister left the mill in 1857
The mill was erected in 1566, the first rent paid for the corn mill was 5/- per year. One penny per year was paid to James Foldes for the parcel of land, (half an acre) on which the mill stood.
The last miller received 2/- per pack (240lbs) for grinding the corn
