In this audio David and Jack discuss the wonders of the sea. Jack recalls witnessing a shoal of white fish appearing like a 'sheet of silver' at night with a vicar who had come onboard as a pleasure-tripper. Jack talks about how experience, instinct and luck determine if you will have a successful fishing trip. He mentions fishing grounds such as the Flannels, the Butt of Lewes, the North Minch, Rockall and how seasons affect fishing. Jack talks about the arrival diesel trawlers in the 1950s, he mentions the Wyre Vanguard, Wyre Defence, Wyre Majestic, Wyre Revenge, Wyre Mariner, Wyre Victory. Jack and David discuss how the diesel ships improved fishing.
