"Burnley: A Pictorial History" (Hall & Spencer, 1993)."Halstead's shoeing forge 50 Yorkshire Street, founded in 1830 and maintained successively by three generations of the family. The picture was taken in 1929 when the business was removing to new premises on Blakey Street". The premises then became a UCP tripe shop and later Alf Mallet gent's hairdressers.
