Hand written note on newspaper cutting 1931?
Miss de Beaumont visiting Burnley as a lecturer under the auspices of the Dental Board of the United Kingdom in the 1930s. She stayed with Mr. J Mackay at his house, situated in the grounds of Towneley Hall. She toured schools in Burnley, educating pupils on dental hygiene. The image shows her at Todmorden Road Central School with some of the scholars inspecting some of the exhibits illustrating her subject.
In pursuing educational interests Miss de Beaumont was emulating her grandmother who was a member of Burnley Education Committee and the donor of the Towneley Gold Medal.
