The Sun Inn was situated at 4 Bridge Street. This pub closed in 1925 and the majority of the street was later demolished during town centre redevelopments in the mid 1960's.

The Thorn Hotel was situated at 67 St James Street. This pub was present by 1891 when the publican was George Ogden. It has now been demolished.
