General notes
Known as Ebenezer Baptist Chapel, Hill Lane (Now Halifax Road) founded in 1840. The chapel opened in 1872 (right of the photograph). The property on the left is Toller House and was altered in 1886-7 and made into the Sunday school. Thus the photo is dated before 1886. Information is taken from Ebenezer Baptist Church and School, Hill Lane, Briercliffe 1840 to 1940 by P.Nuttall

User feedback: 'The description details of this image are correct, but the title of the image should not be Haggate Baptist Chapel, because that is a different chapel in Haggate, whereas this chapel is at Lane Bottom.

It should either be titled Hill Lane Baptist Chapel (current name) or Ebenezer Baptist Chapel (still the name on the OS map in 1893). Haggate is misleading as you have other photos in the collection of the actual Haggate Chapel.'
