General notes
Goalkeeper Edward 'Ted' Fairhurst Adams started his playing career in 1927 for his home town club of Liverpool, but it wasn't until the 1930's when his career really took off. In 1931 he signed for Wrexham where he played for four years, a brief spell at Southport was followed by a move to Turf Moor in 1935. Ted played 111 in goal for the Clarets, his career ending prematurely in 1940 because of the war.
