General notes
Built in 1912-1913, Ferndale Mill was one of the last mills to be built in Burnley. It was constructed for Robert Emmott & Co. Ltd, who were also responsible for building Stanley Mill in 1891. It was built to hold 1476 looms, most of them supplied by Pemberton Bros. of Waterloo Ironworks, Trafalgar Street, Burnley.
