Born Goosnargh 11/11/1883 died 6/3/1953 buried at Worsthorne Worked as a young gardener at Gawthorpe Hall and Queen's Park. Served in Salonika WW1. Worked at Scott Park in the 1920's then at Keighley parks and cemeteries dept. Regular contributor of articles to the Burnley newspapers. Came back to Burnley after his retirement and lived at 123 Albion St. Married Susannah Halstead 17/6/1919. One daughter Barbara who died 25/7/2004.
