This image shows the original Boot Inn, White Lion Inn and Clock Face Inn. The White Lion was an important coaching house in the 19th century. One of the landlords was Robert Parker. Parker Lane was named after him. Also in the image is Slater's Tripe Shop and William Easton's long established Brush Shop. All the pubs were demolished c. 1910 and rebuilt.
