General notes

This burial ground was attached to Machpelah Baptist Chapel, built here in 1765. The chapel and school were demolished in the mid-19th century. Burials continued until 1864, but the graveyard was not cleared until 1989. The site is currently (2025) the car park for the B & M Home Store.
