Single expansion vee twin non-condensing engine.
This was almost the same as the barge engines but simple expansion, economy was less important since it was, as with no. 57, only propelling to the working site. Again, there was more room available and it was controlled from the deck. She was probably a pumping vessel, so also needed a separate feed pump.
