General notes
Three streets off Rossendale Road (formally known as Back Lane) in Burnley - Hapton Street, Valley Street and Griffin Street - were together known as Little Cornwall. Little Cornwall are the houses on the right.

The three rows of terraces were built to house miners working at the nearby Barclay Hills pit in the 1870s.

Around the same time, Cornish miners had been brought in to break the strike at the Cliviger pit and although there’s no evidence of them ever living in any of the properties, the area got its Little Cornwall nickname.
