Horizontal double cylinder. Maker and date unknown. c1890.
Cylinders, 24" x 5' 0" ? drop valves.
Service, Shaft winding. Coal and men. Shaft 260 yards deep.
Winding drum 16' diameter?
A neat design with the valves at the corners, and fitted with an ornamental casing over the steam pipe to the valve chests.
4 bar crosshead guides with tail rods on flat sides. Soft packed glands. The winding drum was unusual in that the supporting arms were circular section, and of cast iron (they were usually of tee, or H section).
the photograph is dated 1936.
