Jowett car with shortened chassis, two Howett gearboxes and a 1929 Morris-Commercial rear axle. The rear wheels are Ford with Army mud-snow tyres. In 1947 a War Department Howett engine was fitted. Mr. Thornber says it runs all day on two or three gallons of petrol, and he has adapted all his horse-drawn tackle to suit it.
