Haymaking at Causeway End in Burnley within Towneley Park, specifically the area that used to be the former site of the Towneley Golf Clubhouse, near Todmorden Road. It refers to the former end of the ancient Long Causeway route from Burnley into Yorkshire, which began on the west side of the park. Victor Pomfret is the young boy with the hay rake.
