St Peter's Church silver alms dish donated by Robert Townley Parker of Cuerden. In 1857 Robert Townley Parker gave an amber glass and silver flagon for holding reserve Communion wine, a Communion bread stand, a large alms dish and a Communion bread plate, all of solid silver.

Robert Townley Parker (1793–1879) was a Unionist Member of Parliament for the House of Commons constituency of Preston.
