General notes
St Margaret's Church was located on Abel Street. It was designed by Mr Thomas Bell and built in 1898 at a cost of £6000. It was consecrated on 9th November 1898 by Bishop Moorhouse of Burnley. However, the church closed in 1968 as attendances were dwindling and it was demolished in around September 1969. See Burnley Express 17.5.1968 and 28.5.1968 for more information.
