The Scarlett Arms was named after the general who led the Charge of the Heavy Brigade in the Crimean War.
Originally the pub had its own brewery but then was part of the tied estate of William Astley Brewers up to the 1920s when Masseys brewery took their business over. The building is now a private residence.
