From the reverse of the photograph - Officials of Brierfield mills Ltd together with the directors of the firm photographed at the Successful Party which was held in Walter Street Council School on Friday last.

The manager of Brierfield Mills at the time was Mr R Howarth.

Margaret Hurst second Cotton Queen of Brierfield 1935-36 and Cotton Queen of Nelson 1936-37 was a weaver employed at the mill.
