General notes
Wheatley Lane Methodist Church is a Grade II listed building, built in 1824, and extended and enlarged in 1867. It was built as a traditional Methodist Preaching house, with an all round balcony, and pulpit. The current pulpit is not original but was added approximately 100 years ago. The carcass of the original pipe organ still remains, although this is no longer operational. The balcony contains painted images of representations of Jesus and the 12 disciples, which is around 50 years old.
