Coronation of King George V1 and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) took place on 12th May, 1937. Their royal initials (GR and (ER) are on the front of the float. The float has a globe showing the names of two countries: South Africa and Ceylon (Present Day - Sri Lanka), and the float has some flags around the border - all these countries were part of the British Empire.
