The reception was held at Oddies café and the honeymoon was in Blackpool, they were to live at 60 Barkerhouse Road, Nelson. The bridegroom was an official of Nelson Hairdressers Association, a former official of Nelson Junior Unionists and a successful breeder of Dalmatian dogs. The bride was formerly on the staff of the Station Hotel.

In 1979 Cecil Rycroft still worked part-time in his barber's shop in Colne Market.
