On the first of April 1929 the village of Huncoat was incorporated into the Borough of Accrington. A civic service was held at the Huncoat Wesleyan Methodist Church to commemorate the amalgamation. The view is of the procession turning into Station Road Huncoat. Prominent, at the front are the Mayor, Councillor R Watson, Town Clerk, Chief Constable, Alderman Barlow, Alderman Bury, Alderman Rawson, Mr Wm Maudsley, Magistrates' Clerk, A T Townsend, Alderman Lambert, Mr Emmett JP.
