On the first of April 1929 the village of Huncoat was incorporated into the borough of Accrington. A civic service was held at the Huncoat Weslyan Church, to commemorate the amalgamation by Councillor R Watson The view is of the procession turning into Station Road Huncoat. Prominent, at the front are the Mayor, Councillor R Watson, Town Clerk, Chief Constable, Alderman Barlow, Alderman Bury, Alderman Rawson, Mr Wm Maudsley, Magistrates Clerk, A T Townsend, Alderman Lambert, Mr Emmett JP.
