General notes
New Band Stand, Oak Hill Park
This fine shell type bandstand was opened in 1929, and two bands occupied the platform on the occasion
the photo was taken.
It faces almost due south, at the bottom of the slope leading to the War Memorial, a great number of people can see the band from this point, and the sound is uninterrupted by the sloping roof, which acts as a sounding board. Of ornamental design, it is a fine acquisition to the Park, and will serve for high class, as well as local bands, expert authority has been sought for this site and design
