The Clayton Hotel was between Albert Street and Moseley Street opposite Rigby Street. Built in 1863 by Lord Every Clayton (b.1841).
The Landlord Mr. W. Cooper stood with bowler hat in front of the window of the smoke room, He applied for a license in January 1904. The pub shut in the early years of the 21st century and has now been split into 2 shops.
