General notes

Originally called Spring Cottage, the building was the home of the Ecroyd family who owned Lomeshaye Mills and later the Moorby family who owned Spring Bank Mill. It later became the Spring Bank Hotel. The Grade II listed building became the Grove and latterly the Hawthorns night club. It closed in the 1990's and fell into disrepair. It was purchased by the Madina Mosque group to replace their Forest Street Mosque.
