General notes

William Robert Foundry Nelson built the 500hp Tandem Compound Steam Engine for Queen Street Mill Harle Syke. The engine was built in 1894 it was named Prudence, but rechristened Peace after the 1914-18 war. It provides power for over 300 Lancashire Looms and is still working today in 2025, as Queen Street Mill is a museum now.
