Town House Farm, Nelson showing Croft Party. The Croft was a sheltered field at the side of the farm where the sheep had their lambs, and the cows had their calves. All the children were members of St. Johns Church and the party was held to celebrate the end of hay time about 1910.
From left to right standing: Mrs Hartley the church wardens wife, Mrs. Halstead sister of Mrs. Hartley who lived at Town House Farm who provided and cooked for the party.
