Syke Farm House Nelson, nearest the camera , the cottage is the two windows at the right of the main building. Little house is the gable end on the right , In 1910 the rent for Little House was one shilling per week , and the Cottage was one shilling and sixpence per week .Ten children were brought up in the Little House , in one room ,with a ladder to the upper floor. Cissy Howarth was one of the children there , Her father drove the Chaffer Engine bringing stone down from Clough Head Quarry to the railway sidings .Mr Blades was his brakesman. At some point Little House was a beer shop This Photograph Was Lent By Miss Nora Halstead Who Was Born At The Cottage and Now Lives At 174 Barkerhouse Road Nelson In 1980.
