General notes
The cottages stood at the junction of Walton Lane with Leeds Road, and were occupied by an old clockmaker. He advertised his craft by having a large clock on the front wall and a sundial at the corner. The clock ceased to function about 50 years before the cottages were demolished. When it was working it had two minute hands, one marking local and the other Greenwich time! The cottage were demolished in the town's improvement scheme.
