The tower was erected in 1967 and is 83ft high. It was made by S.T.C. Structures of Harrogate and weighs 8/10 tons. It was shot blasted and zinc spray painted before it was erected. It was designed by Christopher Haley, an 18 year old graphic design student at Batley College of Art.
