General notes
Photo of the Arndale Centre taken from Railway Street before the lower end of it was closed to traffic, Nelson
The boarded part of the building was occupied by Boots the Chemist until the 2020's. The tower incorporating the Arndale motif was erected in January 1967 and is 83 feet high. It was made by S.T.C. Structures of Harrogate, weighs 8/10 tons and was shot-blasted, zinc sprayed and painted before it was erected. It was designed by an 18 year old graphic design student Christopher Haley of Batley College of Art.
