Image shows a busy St. James's St., Burnley with three town centre pubs., the Swan, the Old Red Lion, and on the other corner of Manchester Rd., the Bull, all decorated for the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra 9th August 1902. The Burnley Express of 13th August 1902 reports in details of the town centre decorations, the splendid display at the town hall, and the torchlight procession which attracted crowds.
