From the Collection of photos donated by former teacher Mary Davenport re Burnley High School; head mistress is Miss Wood, middle of front row. Burnley's first designated High School for Girls was established in 1910 in the new College Building on Ormerod Rd. It moved to a new school building in Kiddrow Lane in 1951, eventually amalgamated with the Boys' Grammar School before secondary education in Burnley became comprehensive.
