General notes
The terrace rows, the ends of which can be seen in the photograph were for Thomas and Waterworth streets. Along with Emily Street these were demolished in the 1970's. The site is now occupied by the Nelson Independent Methodist Church which opened in 1985.
The sloping roof in the distance was for the pedestrian subway beneath the railway. The roof has been removed, but the subway is still in use.
