General notes

Swinden Hall farm was at the end of Swinden Lane on the Colne/Nelson boundary. Part of the building dated back to the 17thC. The final occupants were Harold and Harriet Birtwistle. The hall was demolished to make way for the Whitewalls industrial estate c1970.
