General notes
This photograph was taken at the slide show by Nelson Camera Club as part of the Centenary celebrations. The show was held on Sunday 2nd September at the Silverman Hall which was built in 1904 by the Nelson and District weaver's Association as the Weavers Institute and Assembly Hall. It was later taken over by Pendle Council and named after Sidney Silverman, the prominent campaigner for the abolition of capital punishment, who was MP for Nelson and Colne from 1935 to 1968. In 2008 the hall was sold to the trustees of the Ghosia Mosque as a community and educational centre.
