Grindleton Church is situated on Sawley Road dedicated to St Ambrose, the patron of beekeepers. It is Grade II listed. It opened in 1805, just after the battle of Trafalgar. In 1895, alterations removed the box pews and the decked pulpit, to focus on the Holy Communion service, including a new altar, choir stalls and an extended chancel.
