General notes

New Row is a terrace of cottages built before 1913 on the Clitheroe to Longridge Road, the B6243, 1/4 mile to the East of the Hall's Arms crossroads. The Hall's Arms has recently been converted into housing. The cottages were built in response to the growth in hand loom weaving and had ground floor loom shops to the side. Some of the original features can still be seen in some of the cottages. In 1851 thirty three of the residents were hand loom weavers.
