General notes
A view at Rimington Beck close to the Roman Bridge and a popular picnic spot for the people of Downham and Chatburn. In the 1940s and 1950s there are reports of the children of Downham picking bluebells and cowslips for their mothers.
The viaduct in the middle ground carried the railway between Hellifield (to the left) towards Chatburn (en route to Blackburn). You may be able to discern the steam-driven train crossing it. It crosses the point where Ings Beck (from the direction of Downham) meets Swanside Beck.
