General notes
Dalehead was the area just below the confluence of the Hodder and Hasgill Beck (which flows south east from its source near Dale House). The Dalehead area was flooded when the Hodder was dammed to create Stocks Reservoir in 1932. The outflow from the reservoir runs broadly south south-westerly through Slaidburn, thence through Dunsop Bridge. The village of Stocks in Bowland was "drowned" as the waters rose.
