General notes
Edmundson Buck provided very little detail about this image. There is no immediately available information about the purpose of the Clock House but, given its position at the edge of the river and at a smalll weir suggests that it contained equipment to measure the flow of water along the river.
Neither does the title suggest which river is pictured. The local landmarks suggest tht it could be the Brennand (which fits with the sequence in which he appears to have taken the photographs. However, looking at the site on the ground, it appears more likely that it was the River Dunsop north of Dunsop Bridge and after the confluence of the Brennand and Whitendale.
